Town Census

Massachusetts General Law mandates Town and City Clerks mail an Annual Street List (Census) to all residents on January 1st of each year. The Town of Nahant and the State uses this population information for the following many reasons. It allows the Clerk’s office to keep:

  • For registered voter list accurate active vs. inactive.
  • For school population projections
  • Proof of Residency
  • To qualify for federal and state funding.
  • Beach Stickers

The Nahant Annual Street List (Census) Form are mailed to all Nahant residents in January of each year. If you did not receive your Census please click on the link below, fill out the form and return within 10 days.

Please list all members of your household, include your pets in the spaces provided. All dogs over the age of 6 months must be licensed per MGL 140, section 137. If you did not receive a dog license application in with your Street Listing please download  

If a Family Member is currently serving in the Military or away at college, unless that individual has established residency elsewhere, DO NOT REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR RESIDENCE CONTINUE TO LIST THEM AS RESIDENTS IN THE HOME.

Should a member of your family no longer reside at your address and/or they are a registered voter, they must put moved on the form next to their name and sign the form next to their name or they may put in writing a request to be removed again with their signature. A registered voter cannot be removed from the voting list without their signature

Nahant Street List Books

The List of Residents book is available every July at Town Hall in the Clerk’s office. Cost is $10. This edition contains both Residents by street address and Residents in alphabetical order.
