The Nahant School Department offers programs ranging from preschool through sixth grade at the Johnson School. In addition, we have tuition agreements for our children to continue their education for grades seven through twelve in the Town of Swampscott.

The Johnson School community provides educational excellence in a safe, nurturing environment that challenges students to meet their potential and to become critical thinkers and self-directed life-long learners.

Educational Greenhouse at Johnson Elementary School

Hello Friends of the Johnson School in Nahant Help us make our dream of constructing an Educational Greenhouse at JES a reality by purchasing a permanent laser engraved brick for the walkway leading up to the structure to be located on the Flash Road side of the school behind the library and gymnasium area.

We have been extremely fortunate to have recieved a very generous $80,000 anonymous donation to purchase the greenhouse kit and get the project up and running to begin programming at the beginning of the new school year.Our students will learn sustainability practices and other vital lifelong skills by growing produce for the JES cafeteria and local food bank and running their own Farmer’s market.

Each brick costs $100.00 with $82.00 of that going to fund the ancillary costs of the greenhosue project to include pouring the concrete slab, erecting the structure itself, establishing utility hookups and acquiring raised garden beds and startup soil and supplies.

Each brick can be engraved with a supportive message to the kids at JES or to honor or memorialize a special person or cherished loved one. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
