State Finds Nahant in Compliance with MBTA Communities Act

The state has certified that the Town of Nahant’s new zoning bylaw meets all requirements of the MBTA Communities Act of 2021.

Planning Board to Hold MBTA Communities Act Public Hearing on Sept. 23

The Town of Nahant invites residents to attend a hybrid public hearing on Sept. 23 to discuss proposed zoning changes to bring the Town into compliance with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Communities Act.

BEACH WATER QUALITY TESTING

Short Beach – open
Black Rock/Doggie Beach – CLOSED
Tudor Beach – open
40 Steps Beach – open

The above beaches are tested on a weekly basis from June to September. If any beaches are closed for swimming it will be noticed here and a red “NO SWIMMING” flag will be present at that area.

If Beaches are closed for swimming due to high bacteria we will continue to test the water on a daily basis until we have a result that is safe.
