Nahant Community Garden

The Town of Nahant, in partnership with the Johnson School, offers an organic, pesticide-free garden site with over 30 garden plots available on a first-come, first-served basis to Nahant residents. Gardeners in the program have the opportunity to grow flowers, fruits, and vegetables in privately leased plots and cooperate with one another to manage the community garden site.

Plots are 4ft x 16ft or 8ft x 8ft and are located behind Johnson School, 290 Castle Rd. They rent for $20 for the season to partially cover watering, maintenance, and administrative costs.

Our volunteer-run program promotes community building, sustainable practices, and ecologically responsible gardening. Join us and help fuel this movement towards a healthier Nahant.

Garden plot renewals begin in mid-February each year for the following year. We assign community garden plots to new gardeners on a first-come, first-served basis beginning in mid-April.

To join our community garden program, please:

  1. Review our Gardener Best Practices and Guidelines to see if our program fit your needs and interests.
