Memorial Tree Program

In Partnership with the Department of Public Works and Forestry Division, this commemorative program encourages the planting of trees in municipal land to honor a loved one or a notable event. If interested please fill out the Memorial Tree Application and send to Kristin Taylor at ktaylor@nahant.org or drop off/mail to the Nahant Town Hall.

How to Participate:

In return for your tax-deductible contribution of $350 for an ornamental or canopy tree, we will purchase, plant, stake, mulch, water and maintain this new tree during its normal life: a replacement tree will be provided if lost within two years.

Location and Species:

Along with the Forestry Division and DPW, tree selections and planting locations are chosen based on species and appropriateness for placement. A list of tree species and locations are available. Planting will typically occur during the spring and fall.

Commemorative Plaque:

For an additional cost we can include an commemorative plaque that will be placed at the base of the tree. If you are interested in including a plaque please fill out that portion on the application.
