Hoompa Nickel Road Race
Hello everyone!
It will soon be time for Nahant’s annual “Hoompa Nickel Road Race”. This year’s running road race is being proudly sponsored by the American Legion Post 215 & honorably dedicated to WWII Coast Guard Veteran, Master Chief Petty Officer Maurice Poulin. Master Chief Poulin served his country all around the world during WWII and back home including serving at Nahant’s Historic Lifesaving Station.
All proceeds of this race will benefit the Nahant American Legion Welfare Committee whose mission is to support veterans and families during illnesses or other special needs and a special building fund to support the replacement of the ocean-facing Boat Room Doors at the Lifesaving Station.
This is a kid-friendly event and not only is there a race for adults, but there is a Kid Fun Run/Walk that takes place 30 minutes before the 5 Miler Race.
