SUMMARY:Lions Club Turkey Shoot
DESCRIPTION:The Nahant Lions Club will host its Annual Turkey Shoot on November 23rd\, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Entering its fifth decade\, “this has been one of our most loved events\,” said Tim Bell\, President of the Nahant Lions. “We shoot paper targets with BBs. We award turkeys as prizes for the marksman with the highest score in each group of 20 targets.  The cost of a target is a modest $3.00.” For those who want an alternative means to win a turkey we offer the opportunity to buy raffle tickets. Raffles cost $5.00 each or 5 tickets for $20.00. Targets are $3.00 or 4 for $10.00 \nThe turkeys are donated by members of the Lions Club and by local businesses\, including a very generous donation from The Tides. We thank all who donate to this cause. We couldn’t do this without you.  The Nahant Lions Club has served the Town of Nahant for 70 years. The funds we raise support the Lions charitable focus on eye research\, and in particular the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund (https://www.mlerf.com/). \nThe Turkey Shoot is held at the DPW yard on Flash Road\, from 10:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. There will be warm cider\, donuts\, hot chocolate and hot dogs. So come down and take a shot for a worthy cause.

SUMMARY:Nahant Historical Society 50th Anniversary Party
DESCRIPTION:The Nahant Historical Society will kick off their 50th Anniversary year with a party at the Nahant Town Hall. \nThe event will consist of presenters\, young and old\, who will celebrate Nahant’s history through poetry\, song\, reminiscences\, and speeches. For these readings/performances\, we would require use of the stage area. We plan to serve hors d’oeuvres\, both buffet style and passed. \nThis will be the first of four events to be held throughout 2025 in honor of the Society’s 50th Anniversary. We chose January 19th\, because the Nahant Historical Society was incorporated on this date in 1975 as part of the year-long events planned by the Town’s Bicentennial Committee to celebrate the country’s bicentennial. The event will be free and open to the public. \n
