You should have received a postcard in the mail this week regarding new recycling carts. Please see the attached photo’s for additional information.
Here are some answers to the questions that we have received thus far:
Q: Is there a cost for the new recycling cart?
A: No. The Town matched a grant with retained earnings to pay for the cost of these carts.
Q: When will I receive my cart and how?
A: The carts should be distributed next week by 8/26, to your doorstep. Once you receive the cart, you are required to use it for curbside collection of recyclables. Until then, continue to use your current barrel.
Q:Can I use my old recycling bin for curbside collection?
A: Once the new carts are distributed, they are the only carts that can be used for curbside collection.
Q: What do I do with my old recycling bin?
A: If you want to dispose of your old recycling bin once your new cart is delivered, you can mark it with an “X” and put it out for collection on your trash collection day.
Q: How many carts will I get?
A: Each single family unit will receive one 65 gallon recycling cart. A two family home will receive two carts, a three family will receive three cats. In the future, a second cart will be available for purchase if you need one (stay tuned).
